FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How to activate a payment method?

To activate a payment method, first, it must be open to new cashiers and registered in your profile

Where can I check the status of payment methods?

You can check this dashboard: https://try.airtm.com/market-status. With it you can also see the minimum number of transactions you must complete as a customer with the method to be considered as a cashier candidate.

How do we determine if a method is open?

Several factors determine if a payment method is open for new cashiers::

  • Request acceptance rate: If our acceptance rate is below the desired level.

  • Payment method concentration: To minimize risks and keep the market dynamic, we try to prevent a few cashiers from monopolizing a significant portion of transactions. We use criteria to measure and prevent market concentration, adding more cashiers when necessary.

  • The rate: We aim to offer attractive rates for our customers. If rates are uncompetitive, we try to incorporate more cashiers willing to accept transactions at a better rate for the user.

  • New payment method: New payment methods remain open until the they reach the desired levels of acceptance and concentration.

How many cashiers are granted permissions?

If a payment method is open, we grant permissions until it reaches the desired indicator levels. Therefore, our algorithm grants permissions to a limited number of cashiers daily.

Who do we grant permissions to?

We use a prioritization algorithm to grant permissions to our most active and experienced users and cashiers. This is done by constantly calculating each user's metrics as they complete P2P transactions on Airtm.

 Important considerations

Please note that we do not manually activate permissions.

After receiving authorization for a payment method, you must complete transactions using that method to maintain your authorization. You will receive a notification after 30 days of inactivity, and your authorization will expire after 60 days.
