UK Virtual Account — Eligibility, fees, and limits

Who can access?

The UK Virtual Account is available to Airtm users who have successfully completed identity verification. The feature will appear in the app for eligible users.

Fees

• Opening: free.
• Maintenance: free.
• Receiving payments: no separate fee. Airtm applies a 1.75% variable fee incorporated into the GBP → USDC exchange rate shown to the user. The user sees the final USDC amount directly.

Exchange rate

The GBP to USDC conversion uses the rate available at the time the deposit is received and processed. The rate shown already includes Airtm's fee. As a result, the final rate may differ from a previously quoted rate if the deposit arrives at a different time.

Deposit limits

Supported deposit types

• From your own bank account: yes.
• From third-party businesses: yes. This includes payments from employers, clients, remote-work platforms, and other companies.
• From third-party individuals: no. Deposits from personal (individual) accounts are not currently supported.

Compatible platforms

The UK Virtual Account works with platforms that support GBP payouts through Faster Payments or compatible local UK bank transfers, such as Wise, Deel, and Payoneer. Compatibility may depend on each platform's own policies.
