What is the Airtm UK Virtual Account?

Airtm's UK Virtual Account lets you receive GBP payments directly into your account without needing a traditional UK bank account. Each eligible user receives a unique set of local UK banking credentials — an account number and a sort code — that businesses and platforms can use to send GBP transfers via the Faster Payments network.

Funds received in GBP are automatically converted to USDC and credited to your Airtm balance.

How does it work?

1. You receive a unique set of local UK banking details linked to your Airtm account.
2. Share those details with the business or platform that will pay you in GBP.
3. When the Faster Payments transfer arrives, the GBP is automatically converted to USDC and credited to your Airtm balance.

Processing times

In most cases, Faster Payments processes transfers within a few minutes. Under normal conditions, crediting typically completes within the first 5 minutes. In some cases — particularly for larger amounts or processing delays — it may take up to approximately 30 minutes.

What can you do with the funds?

• Convert them to your local currency through Airtm's P2P network or available direct withdrawal options in your region.
• Send them to other Airtm users.
• Keep them in your Airtm balance.

What is it for?

It is ideal if you receive payments from companies, employers, or international platforms that support GBP payouts through Faster Payments, such as Wise, Deel, Payoneer, and similar platforms.

Important

• The UK Virtual Account is for receiving payments only. Outgoing GBP transfers are not supported.
• It only accepts GBP through the Faster Payments network. Payments in other currencies or through unsupported rails may be rejected or returned.
• The beneficiary name associated with the account is Bridge Building SA. Use this exact name whenever a bank or platform asks for the beneficiary name.
