EURC balance — FAQ

Modified on Fri, 14 Aug at 12:57 AM

What is the EURC balance? The EURC balance is your digital euro balance inside Airtm. It lets you receive, hold, convert, send, and withdraw euros without being forced to convert to dollars.

Do I need a EUR Virtual Account to have a EURC balance? No. Any user can activate the EURC balance from the home screen and fund it by converting USDC to EURC or receiving a send from another user. The EUR Virtual Account is only needed if you want to receive SEPA transfers from external platforms.

How do I activate the EURC balance? See How to activate your EURC balance.

How much does it cost to have a EURC balance? Holding EURC is free. Receiving or sending EURC to other Airtm users is also free. Costs apply when you convert between EURC and USDC, or when you withdraw to a bank account. See EURC balance — fees.

Can I convert EURC to USDC at any time? Yes. The conversion is instant and there is no minimum or maximum amount. See How to convert EURC to USDC.

How do I withdraw my EURC balance? You can withdraw it directly to a European bank account via SEPA. If you want to use Airtm's standard withdrawal methods (P2P or direct withdrawal), convert your EURC to USDC first. See How to withdraw EURC to a bank account.

Can I send EURC to another Airtm user? Yes. EURC sends work the same as USDC sends: you use the recipient's Airtm email. If the recipient doesn't have an active EURC balance, it activates automatically when they receive the send. If they don't have an Airtm account, they'll receive an invitation to create one.

In which countries is the EURC balance available? In all countries where Airtm operates, except the United States. See EURC balance — eligibility.

Is EURC safe? Yes. EURC is issued by Circle, a regulated and audited company in the United States, with full backing by euro reserves. It is the European equivalent of USDC.
