What is the EURC balance?

The EURC balance is your digital euro balance inside Airtm. EURC is a euro-backed stablecoin issued by Circle — the same company behind USDC — with a 1:1 value with the euro and full reserve backing.

With a EURC balance, you can receive, hold, and move digital euros directly in Airtm without being forced to convert to dollars. You decide when to convert.

What can you do with your EURC balance?

• Receive digital euros: if you have a EUR Virtual Account, SEPA payments are credited to your EURC balance as digital euros.
• Receive EURC from another user: any Airtm user can send you EURC using your Airtm email.
• Convert to USDC: convert from EURC to USDC (or USDC to EURC) at any time.
• Withdraw to a European bank account: withdraw your EURC balance directly to a European bank via SEPA.
• Send to another Airtm user: send EURC to any user using their Airtm email.
• Hold digital euros: no custody cost.

How does the EURC balance activate?

• If you have a EUR Virtual Account: your EURC balance activates automatically and is linked to it.
• If you don't have a EUR Virtual Account: you can activate it from the button on your account's home screen, then fund it by converting USDC to EURC or receiving a send from another user.
• If someone sends you EURC: the balance activates automatically when you receive the send.

What is EURC?

Availability

The EURC balance is available to Airtm users in all countries where the platform operates, except the United States.
