Your Argentinian CVU/Alias is a local account identifier that lets anyone in Argentina send you Argentine pesos (ARS) directly from any bank or digital wallet. When a deposit arrives, the ARS is automatically converted to USDC and credited to your Airtm wallet. No action needed on your end.
What is a CVU, and what is an Alias?
A CVU (Clave Virtual Uniforme) is the standard account identifier used across Argentina's banking and payments system, similar to a bank account number. Your Alias is a shorter, human-readable label that points to the same account. Senders can use either one to transfer ARS to you.
How deposits work
- Share your CVU or Alias with whoever is sending you ARS.
- They send the funds from any Argentine bank or digital wallet.
- The ARS is received and automatically converted to USDC.
- USDC lands in your Airtm wallet.
Who can use it?
- Your Airtm identity verification must be complete (Tier Verified or Enhanced Verified). If it isn't, you'll be prompted to verify when you try to activate your CVU/Alias.
- Currently available for users in Argentina. Availability may expand to more countries over time.
A few things to know
- Your CVU/Alias cannot be deleted or deactivated once created.
- You can update your Alias at any time, subject to a 24-hour window between changes (the first change after creation can be made immediately).
- If your account status changes due to a compliance review, access to your CVU/Alias may be temporarily suspended. Contact support for help.
