The Invest in DeFi section within Airtm allows you to generate returns simply and securely. Below, you will find all the necessary information on how this product works.
What is Investing in DeFi? +
Investing in DeFi is a feature that allows you to generate interest by investing in liquidity pools that provide loans on the blockchain. Airtm offers you these returns without leaving the platform.
Which currencies can I invest? +
- Currently: You can only invest USDC.
- Coming soon: We plan to add other liquidity pools and compatible currencies, such as EURC.
Note: All investments are made in pools with variable yield, but the estimated yield is visible before confirming the investment.
How long are my funds locked? +
- No minimum term: You can withdraw your investment at any time.
- Consideration: There may be slight delays in withdrawal, depending on the availability of liquidity in the pool at that moment.
When do I receive my earnings? +
- The revaluation of your investment is continuous, meaning that returns are generated from the moment of investment and reflected in the value of your position.
- Collection: When deciding to withdraw, the invested capital plus accumulated earnings up to that moment will be credited to you.
Important: Earnings only materialize and effectively become yours at the moment of withdrawing your investment.
What do I need to start investing? +
To start your investment, you must meet three simple requirements:
- Have your account verified on Airtm.
- Have at least 5 USDC available in your balance.
- Read and accept the risks associated with the product.
Once this is fulfilled, you just need to access the investment section, choose the amount, and confirm the operation.
How much can I invest and how often? +
- Max amount: The amount you can invest is limited by your verification level on Airtm (same limits as withdrawals).
- Frequency: You can invest multiple times. There is no limit on individual operations.
- Volume: Limits apply to total volume moved (daily/monthly) based on your level.
Recommendation: To increase your capacity, the ideal is to upgrade your verification level.
What risks exist in DeFi investment? +
It is crucial to understand the risks associated with this decentralized protocol:
- Smart Contract Risk
If a hacker exploits a vulnerability in the code, there could be a loss of funds.
Mitigation: Rigorous audits. View audits → - Price Oracle Failure
If the oracle reports incorrect prices, it could generate losses. Oracles are also audited.
- Volatility (USDC)
Small possibility that USDC loses its peg to the dollar. (Risk external to the protocol).
