What are the additional requirements to register as a Mexican user?

In addition to the standard signup flow in Airtm requiring you to provide first and last name, country, email, phone, address and date of birth, and confirming your email address, Mexican users are required to take the following actions prior to transacting (as a new user your account will remain "Limited" and unable to add or withdraw funds, send funds, and buy or sell AirUSD):

Confirm your email address

  • Upon signing up we will send you an email with an authentication link for you to click through to return to Airtm.

Verify your identity

  1. While logged in select "Settings" in the left side menu.
  2. Select the "Verification" tab and “Verify now”.
  3. Follow the instructions to submit your government-issued identification and a photo of your face to match.
  4. Once submitted, verification will take a few minutes up to several hours. Please check your email during this time should our verification team require additional information.

Enable 2FA to login, withdraw and send funds

  1. While logged in select "Settings" in the left side menu.
  2. Select the "Security" tab and "Enable 2FA".
  3. Follow the instructions to configure 2FA authentication with your device.

Complete the form sent to you via email, and visible via an in-app popup while logged in prompting you to provide:

  • Your RFC
  • Immigration status
  • Country and State of Birth 
  • Occupation
  • Proof of address
  • Source of funds
  • Voter Registration Number
  • Gender
  • Account beneficiary
  • When the form is completed, a member from our team will review within 48 hours and notify you upon your account completing registration, or if you are required to provide additional information.

Once the above requirements are met, your account status will be updated to Active and you will be able to Add/Withdraw AirMXN and Buy/Sell AirUSD. Please refer to our Mexican user transactional limits FAQ for more information.
